Job Role: Janitor

Description:

Janitors are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of a building or facility. They may work in a variety of settings, such as schools, office buildings, hospitals, and other public spaces.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and maintaining common areas, such as lobbies, restrooms, and hallways
• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
• Dusting and cleaning surfaces, such as desks, counters, and tables
• Emptying trash and recycling bins
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and other areas as needed
• Replenishing supplies, such as paper towels, soap, and toilet tissue
• Performing light maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing issues
• Reporting any maintenance or cleaning issues to management
• Following safety procedures and using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Prior janitorial or cleaning experience is preferred, but not required
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform the duties of the job
• A good work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test (if required by the employer)

Salary Range in USA:

$20,000 – $40,000 per year (depending on experience and location)
